I just finished reading Daybreak on Raven Island, and loved it! The characters were believable and each one had a growth arc. The plot had surprising twists with lots of ghosts! The setting was chillingly vivid. The date and time at the beginning of each chapter increased the tension and kept the story grounded.
I’m doing a creative nonfiction picture book with a scary beginning, so your book is a great example of techniques.
I read all genres and age groups. I’m always open to learning about plotting and tension.
Thank you for the kind words on my book, Janet! It means a lot :) I'll be covering plotting and tension A LOT in the coming months, so I hope you stick around!
Fleur, as “the one who always shows up” it’s what I do. 🤷🏼♀️ Yes, I’m a writer but it’s so much more than that. I’m traveling so a bit behind in reading emails and blogs but I’m here.
I love when you share craft tips especially about your writing process, but also I want to keep up-to-date with your current projects so I preorder. :) And of course, always loving the Floof.
It’s all about #TheFloof! Actually, e) all of the above. Plus, I love supporting artists of all stripes and all levels of achievement/accomplishment 💕💕💕
I am here because I fell in love with Midnight at the Barclay Hotel. It's just a fun mystery for our middle school students. This led to me to Daybreak at Raven Island and I'm just looking forward to what comes next.

So glad you're always here, Laura :-)
I always enjoy writing tips, Floof, and author updates, including books and author appearances.
Thank you for the input, Danielle. Glad you're here!

I love that, Susan! Thank you for the kind words.
I'm very curious about this question too.
