I just finished reading Daybreak on Raven Island, and loved it! The characters were believable and each one had a growth arc. The plot had surprising twists with lots of ghosts! The setting was chillingly vivid. The date and time at the beginning of each chapter increased the tension and kept the story grounded.

I’m doing a creative nonfiction picture book with a scary beginning, so your book is a great example of techniques.

I read all genres and age groups. I’m always open to learning about plotting and tension.

Thanks for a great read!

Keep on writing!

Fleur, as “the one who always shows up” it’s what I do. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Yes, I’m a writer but it’s so much more than that. I’m traveling so a bit behind in reading emails and blogs but I’m here.

I am here because I fell in love with Midnight at the Barclay Hotel. It's just a fun mystery for our middle school students. This led to me to Daybreak at Raven Island and I'm just looking forward to what comes next.
