June Writing Challenge: Day 2
Where Fleur feels like a winner in her own writing challenge, even on day 2.
It’s been so fun to hear how many of you are joining my June writing challenge! I sometimes feel like I’m just talking to myself here, so hearing that I’m not alone in my quest is the best (that rhymes).
In case you still want to join in, it’s not too late. It never is honestly, pull up a chair. This is the Get in the Write Habit Challenge: all we’re trying to do is write. No minimum word count, no finished novel unless you want to. The goal is just to write every day and hope it’s a habit that sticks.
It’s only Day 2, but I already feel like a winner. I’m at about 2200 words on a new MG mystery; at this point, it’s all fun and discovery. I’m secretly hoping to get a draft finished by the end of this month, but we’ll see. A little over a thousand words a day is not bad to start.
Tell me: how are you doing? Did you get some words in?
Even if it’s 10 words, that counts. We are the low bar group here. Maybe you’re a brilliant poet with those 10 words, right?
I’m going to get back to work now, but just in case you need a foster kitten fix, here are a few pictures. They’re growing, eating, and taking lots of naps. It’s the most uplifting, hopeful thing to watch.
Enjoy, see you next week…
